Audi has unveiled its next-generation S4 at the Frankfurt Motor Show in the form of a saloon and an Avant. The S4 has a new single framed front grille, 18in alloy wheels and revised front bumpers with more prominent air inlets. The rear bumpers have been restyled for the S4 with four tailpipes protruding from underneath.
Power is sent to all wheel via Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive. A self-locking differential sends 60% of the power to the rear axle and 40% to the front. The differential can send up to 70% of all power to the front axle and up to 85% to the rear, as required to achieve best traction.
The biggest change being a turbocharged, the engine now produces 354 horsepower, 21hp more than the supercharged. The car comes standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission good for 0-100km/h in 4.7 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155mph (250km/h).
Inside the new Audi S4 you will find Audi’s virtual cockpit display, Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system and tablet-based rear seat entertainment system amongst other features. With so many good features one can only imagine what the next generation Audi RS4 will be like.
By the way, I’ll have my S4 in the form of an Avant, Triple black please (black paint job, black wheels, black interior)
