Most of us thought spy shots of this particular model was going to be called the F12 Speiale, WRONG!! Ferrari revealed that its called the F12tdf (Tour de France), in homage to the endurance road race that Ferrari dominated in the 1950s and 60s.
Power comes from the same 6.3litre V12 you find in the F12 but has been tickled and fettled with to produce an extra 40hp and 15Nm of torque. The one piece braking system has been lifted straight out of the LaFerrari and will bring the F12tdf from 200km/h to a halt in 121metres.
The gearbox has been tweaked to make the ratios six per cent shorter and 30 per cent faster on the upshift. Downshifts are also quicker, with response rates improved by 40 per cent.
Rear-wheel steering system has been added to this beast due to its tendency to oversteer called the Virtual Short Wheelbase, which improves steering response and high-speed stability. With the extensive use of carbon fibre the F12tdf has managed to lose 110kgs. Due to a raised spoiler and a steeply raked rear screen the F12tdf can generate 230kg of downforce at 200km/h – 107kg more than before.
Only 799 of these menacing Berlinettas will be built, have you ordered yours yet?
