Probably the most anticipated hyper car of the century, the Bugatti Chiron has been on the lips of millions of automotive heads around the world!
After much anticipation and chasing the camouflaged version down the streets of France, it finally arrived and made sure to arrive in all its power and glory at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The Chiron, named after the late Monaco racing driver, Louis Alexandre Chiron who competed in rallies, sports car races and the Grand Prix.
President of Bugatti, Wolfgang Durheimer confirmed that the 2016 production line would only create 500 of these brutal beasts. So you may be asking yourself, what is all the fuss about this vehicle? It’s simple really, Bugatti created the Frankenstein of vehicles when they produced the Veyron, and surprised us again when they brought out the Veyron Super Sport. Many thought, they surely cannot do better than this… and yes, they done better, much better!
The Chiron, assembled in the French town of Molsheim, it is a 2 door coupe with an 8.0 L W16 quad-turbocharged engine which pushes an amazing 1, 103kWs and 1, 600 Nm of torque starting from 2000rpm. Right about now you may be asking what on earth a quad-turbocharged engine is. Simply put, two of the four turbos are electronically driven to eliminate turbo lag, making it a seamless thrust of power taking you to the top speed 420 km/h! (This is limited, for safety reasons!)
The Chiron accelerates from 0 – 100 km/h in under 2.5 seconds, 0 – 200 km/h in less than 6.5 seconds and 0 – 300 km/h in under 13.6 seconds. At full speed it is estimated that the petrol tank of 100 litres would be emptied in 8 minutes, we doubt anyone in South Africa would want to try that… So, your wallet is itching to know how much this will cost you? A not to funny R 41 Million, which means we all going to start playing the National Lotto!
How do we feel about this car? We completely in love with it! We will easily give up anything to get our hands or ass in it!
