After a couple of leaks and a teaser from BMW themselves, the BMW 8 Series Concept has finally been revealed. This particular model will up against some heavy hitters such as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe, Aston Martin Db11 and Bentley Continental GT.
This is by far the most beautiful BMW design yet. We see the front end with slim laser lights, classical chunky kidney grilles and bold lines give it some presence and let us not forget that long hood reminiscent of the classic BMW 850csi. At the rear beautiful L-shaped lights, large fenders, and a carbon fibre diffuser gives it an added sportiness to it. Did we mention the epic colour? It’s called Barcelona Grey Liquid.
The interior is pure class. More driver orientated design it sports exclusive sports seats with carbon fibre shell and the “finest leather” upholstery. It also sports a custom steering wheel with hand-polished spokes and red-anodized shift paddles. The instrument panel is digital, has iDrive display and lots of carbon fibre.
The BMW 8 Series Concept is scheduled for 2018 and it looks quite promising. “The BMW Concept 8 Series is out take on full-blooded high-end driving machine,” said Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President of BMW Group Design. “It is a luxurious sports car which embodies both unadulterated dynamics and modern luxury like arguably no other. For me. It’s a slice of pure automotive fascination.”
BMW hasn’t mentioned what engine will be put into these beauties but we suspect it will be produced with a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, a turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 and the turbocharged 6.6-liter V12 from the M760Li xDrive.
