By far one of the anticipated hyper cars to come out of the Mercedes-AMG stable has been revealed at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Some headline figures:
· 1000hp+ from its 1.6 litre V6 petrol electric engine.
· Can reach speed speeds of over 350 km/h
· 0-200 km/h in under 6 secs.
The Project One is essentially an F1 car for the road – the 1.6-litre V6 engine with electronically assisted turbocharging comes straight out of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 car. Some might argue about the design, but I personally love it. Low and aggressive it looks poised to demolish the hybrid competition (McLaren P1, Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder)
The interior looks clean without a host of switches and knobs. The dash and instrument cluster are wide-format LCD screens make it look more classy. The steering wheel is rectangular and is F1 inspired. Interestingly enough there is a phone holder in the centre console – call it practical.
It was driven on stage by none other than the legend himself, Lewis Hamilton.
It’s said that it’ll cost $2.7m and production will start at the end of 2019. New Nurburgring record in the near future? I think the production version is going to annihilate the Green Hell record!
