The German tuner has gotten its hands on the new BMW X3 xDrive30d and has created something rather special.
Set to make its debut at next weeks Geneva International Motor Show, Alpina has added some magic to the already cable BMW BMW X3 xDrive30d. Dubbed the XD3, its tuned to develop 285 kW and 770 N.m of torque from its quad-turbo (yes, you read right) 3,0-litre inline-six turbodiesel engine. 0- 100 km/h sprint comes in 4.6 seconds and will get you some good range too, just 9,0 L/100.
The quad-turbo model is only available for the left-hand drive market with the right-hand drive market getting the 246 kW 700 N.m twin-turbo version. None the less, that’s enough diesel power for a 0 – 100km/h sprint in 4.9 seconds.
The cars eight-speed automatic gearbox and xDrive all-wheel-drive system has been altered with Alpina adding its own sports suspension, electronically adjustable dampers, and a limited slip-differential bolted onto the rear axle for improved handling.
The XD3 gets your typical styling enhancements, new front and rear bumper the latter fitted with some quad pipes. 20-inch Alpina wheels come as standard with 22-inch wheels as optional. The interior has been kept minimal with the biggest change being the Alpina steering wheel.
