After many teasers, the wait is finally over as the German brand unveils their Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé. 18C0091_006.jpg

The latest in the AMG family was unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show. The 4-Door family will come in three variants, the GT53, GT63 and GT63 S.

The GT63 4Matic+ sports a 4,0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that makes 430 kW and 800 N.m which is good for a 0 – 100 km/h sprint in 3.4 secs and a top speed of 310 km/h. The GT63 S 4Matic+ has the same 4,0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine as the GT63 4Matic+ but delivers a stealthy 470 kW and 900 N.m which translates to a 0 – 100 km/h sprint in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 315 km/h.


The entry level GT53 4Matic+ boasts a turbocharged 3,0-litre in-line six-cylinder engine that produces 320 kW and 520 N.m of torque. A 0 – 100 km/h sprint is achieved in 4,5 seconds, with a top speed of 285 km/h. It features Mercs EQ Boost starter-alternator combines a starter motor and alternator in a powerful electric motor and is between the engine and transmission. The results adds 16 kW and 250 N.m of torque.

The V8 versions come fitted with a nine-speed automatic transmission with a wet clutch while the six-cylinder version comes with a nine-speed automatic torque converter transmission.

Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé is essentially a four-door fastback layout with frameless side windows. The interior features two 12,3 inch high-resolution displays which are standard on the V8 version and are an option in the sic cylinder version.

Mercedes-AMG claim their 4 Door Coupe has a boot capacity measuring 395 litres and  1 324 litres with the backrests folded down.
